Bangladesh to host Iran lineup

A total of 25 Iranian productions are to be screened at the 17th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

Dhaka Filmfest screens the films in 8 categories; three of which will host Iranian screening productions as listed below.

Asian Competition section of the festival will screen ‘Dressage’ by Pouya Badkoubeh, ‘Appendix’ by Hossein Namazi and ‘A Bigger Game’ by Abbas Nezamdoust.

‘Golnesa’ by Sattar Chamani-Gol, ‘Hunting Season’ by Daryush Yari, ‘Azar’ by Mohammad Hamzei, ‘Bearer’ by Bahman Kamyar and 'Hattrick' by Ramtin Lavvafi will be shown in the Cinema of the World section of the event.   

Women Filmmakers section will also show ‘In the Mist’ by Pegah Arzi, ‘I’ll be Back’ by Mahboubeh Molaee, ‘Old Road’ by Manijeh Hekmat, ‘But I See Her in My Dream’ by Seyedeh Niloufar Mousavi, ‘Endless’ by Maryam Zahirimehr.

Spiritual Films section of the festival will screen ‘Due Day’ by Midia Kiasat, ‘Return’ by Shahriar Pourseyedian, ‘Video Check’ co-directed by Masud Mohammadi Takami and Mahyar Seifuri, ‘Always You Say Hello First’ by Saed Nejati, ‘No.  17 Soheila’ by Mahmoud Ghafari and ‘Zona’ by Toofan Nahan Ghodrati.   

Last but not least, Children’s Film section screens ‘Hendi and Hormoz’ by Abbas Amini, ‘Kati and Setareh’ by Reza Majlesi, ‘1 Kilo of fly Wing’ by Reza Sobhani, ‘Buddha’s Shame’ by Morteza Atash Zamzam, ‘Aghqand’ by Davoud Rajabi.  

Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) is dedicated to the promotion of a healthy cine culture in Bangladesh and in celebrating the global mainstream in film and its social relevance.  

Founded in 1992, DIFF will be held with a theme on “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society.”

The 17th edition of the DIFF is slated for January 10-18, 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
